So, here’s my story: I was born October 1985 in a tiny little town in North Florida (a.k.a. Lower Alabama), to Vic & Maura Jones, both musicians. I was exposed to classical, jazz, pop, rock, and country from before birth. My maternal grandparents were very social and musical, so they encouraged us to play all the various instruments available in the house and sing for their guests. These opportunities, I imagine, were my earliest chances to perform, and ham it up. I did. My little sister Penny Lane and I would regularly sing, dance and act silly for any passer-by and doubly so for a camera. Once I was school age, I was immediately placed in art schools, where I honed my performance skills. Ultimately, though, music was an ordinary, second-nature process for me and I never gave it much thought. That is until I realized the power I had in my voice. High school choir anchored this new realization very quickly and ever since I have been able to move through life with a true sense of my purpose. Since then I have been working diligently on my songwriting craft and building my “chops” as a piano player and singer by touring with my family band Melodious Jones on various cruise lines. I’m close now to putting out an album and that, as ever, is still the plan. Working out the financial logistics seems to be the hardest part and that is starting to come together as I write this. All I can say now is that I hope this is just the beginning of a long life-story to come…
