Meet Vic

Vic wanted to play drums as far back as he can remember, but a fateful day at school at about 8 years old watching a live band was the turning point. Resistance from the parents over him drumming drove him to achieve that first musical training on the violin. Not easily deterred, Vic finally acquired a drum-kit at age 16 after meeting and studying with drummer/artist Connor Shaw. Later, he reunited with Connor to study and was eventually talked into getting a scholarship at local Pensacola Junior College in 1984 where he took up percussion studies in the music program. Then, pouring his efforts into drumming and subsequently the guitar, Vic found a true passion for the music and emerged with a career playing for some of the hottest dance bands in the business, staying busy playing all popular styles and touring nationwide. The many groups he worked for elevated his experiences to a professional level achieved by few musicians from home.

He finally arrived in Las Vegas in 1994 making it home base to work with one of the many associates who needed his drumming skills in a local group. The many connections and friendships culminated into working on a cruise ship with the 60’s hit group, “Spiral Starecase.” The rest is history, so they say, because that was the impetus for the group, “Neptune’s Party,” formulated to answer both the needs of the cruise industry and the eventual goal of a leading and bringing to notoriety a true high impact family act. Bringing his wife Maura in the fold in 2004 took the band to a higher plane and when his son Daniel joined in 2007 there was a new fresh energy that was inspired by the considerable talents as an original artist. Though actually an incredible force as a trio, Maura’s brother Andy Robinson came back into the clan with his guitar and vocal skills to top off this formidable quartet.  This led to the name change of the band to reflect who we really are...a family.

Vic has reason to be very proud of the many accomplishments of an amazing career that has brought him to a place few musical leaders can boast. Having his family sharing the many experiences of the “lifestyle” is more than any one could hope for and he would tell you that the blessings he’s been bestowed seem endless. When you hear the “Melodious Jones” you can’t help coming away with a strong sense that those blessings are infused into your own being and you will never be the same again.
